The MD87C51FB-16 is a chmos single-chip 8-bit microcontroller with 4 kbytes of eprom program memory . It is fabricated on Intels CHMOS ll-E process. It contains 4 Kbytes of on-chip program memory that can be electrically programmed, and can be erased by exposure to ultraviolet light. The MD87C51FB-16 EPROM array uses a modified Quick-Pulse ProgrammingTM algorithm, by which the entire 4 Kbyte array can be programmed in about 12 seconds. The extremely low operating power, along with the two reduced power modes, Idle and Power Down, make this part very suitable for low power applications. The Idle mode freezes the CPU while allowing the RAM, timer/counters, serial port, and interrupt system to continue functioning. The MD87C51FB-16 saves the RAM contents but freezes the oscillator, causing all other chip functions to be inoperative.
